AboutA manifesto, of sorts

We’d rather beremembered thannoticed.

Aeterna is Latin for lasting. It is a reminder we chose to put in our name: make work that still feels right after the launch week is over.

Young enough to experiment.Skilled enough to execute.Thoughtful enough to know when to stop.

Why the studio exists

A lot of design is made to be seen once, scrolled past and replaced.

We started Aeterna Works because the businesses we admired most, the roasters and weavers and small hotels, deserved better than templates. Their craft took years. Their websites took a weekend.

So we built a studio that could work the way they do: slowly where it matters, quickly where it doesn’t, and across every place their customers meet them.

What we believe

  1. 01

    Restraint is a skill.

Knowing what to leave out takes longer than adding more. We would rather spend that time.

  2. 02

    The details are the brand.

A caption, a hinge, the weight of a business card. People notice what they cannot name.

  3. 03

Make it, then talk about it.

We show prototypes early. A rough thing on a screen beats a perfect thing in a slide deck.

  4. 04

Digital and physical are one conversation.

Someone meets you at a booth, then on your website, then in a photograph. It should sound like the same voice.

  5. 05

    Built to be looked after.

We design things your team can run and maintain long after we have gone home.

Design, technology and story, in one team.

Design

decides how it feels: the type, the pace, the silence between things.

Technology

decides whether it works: fast on a slow connection, readable in the sun, easy to update.

Story

decides whether anyone cares. It is the thread we follow from the first call to the last photograph.

Who we work with

We work best with

  • People who know what they want to build, even if they haven’t figured out exactly how yet
  • Businesses that care about how they present themselves
  • Founders and teams open to collaboration

We’re open to

  • New ideas
  • Different industries
  • Small beginnings
  • Projects that are still taking shape
